Online Running Coaching Terms & Agreement

Please read these terms carefully before joining Run Fit Coach Online Running Coaching. They explain how the coaching service works, your responsibilities, payment arrangements and your cancellation rights.

Key Coaching Terms

Run Fit Coach offers two levels of personalised online running coaching. Both options have an initial minimum commitment of three months. Full details are provided within this agreement.

£79 / month Online Running Coaching
£119 / month Complete Online Running Coaching
3 months initial minimum commitment
30 days cancellation notice thereafter

1. The Coaching Service

Run Fit Coach provides personalised online running coaching based on your goals, training history, current ability, availability, training data and ongoing feedback. The exact level of review, analysis and additional support provided will depend on the coaching option you select.

  • Personalised running programme delivered through TrainingPeaks
  • Training built around your goals, experience and availability
  • Monthly structured training review
  • Appropriate programme adjustments where required
  • Ongoing coaching communication via WhatsApp
  • General workout feedback
  • Guidance using pace, heart rate and perceived effort where appropriate
  • General race preparation and taper guidance where appropriate

Complete Online Running Coaching - £119 per month

This option includes everything within Online Running Coaching, plus:

  • Weekly structured check-in and training review
  • More proactive programme adjustment according to your training response
  • Detailed workout, pace, heart-rate and perceived-effort analysis where appropriate
  • Monthly video or telephone coaching consultation
  • Runner-specific strength programming delivered through TrainingPeaks
  • Video running technique review, coaching cues and drills where appropriate
  • Individual race planning, pacing strategy and race-week guidance for key target events
  • General race fuelling and hydration considerations within the scope of running coaching
  • Pre-race strategy discussion and post-race review where appropriate

Your programme may be changed according to your progress, recovery, availability, feedback, injury, illness or other relevant circumstances. Clients on either coaching option should therefore keep Run Fit Coach informed of meaningful changes that may affect their training.

No particular race result, personal best or performance outcome can be guaranteed.

2. Your Responsibilities

Online coaching relies upon accurate and timely information from you. You agree to provide accurate information about your training history, current training, health and any injuries or physical issues relevant to your participation in exercise.

You agree to provide appropriate feedback and inform Run Fit Coach of any significant pain, injury, illness or change in circumstances that may affect your ability to train.

You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit and well enough to undertake a planned training session.

If you experience significant, unusual or concerning symptoms during exercise, you should stop exercising and seek appropriate medical advice where necessary.

You should not undertake or continue exercise contrary to medical advice.

3. Exercise, Health & Injury

Running, strength and conditioning and other forms of exercise involve an inherent risk of injury.

Training will be planned using the information reasonably available to Run Fit Coach. However, it is not possible to eliminate all risks associated with exercise.

Online running coaching is not a substitute for medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment.

Where an injury, illness or other concern falls outside the appropriate scope of running coaching, you may be advised to seek assessment or advice from an appropriate healthcare professional.

Nothing within these terms excludes or restricts any legal rights or remedies you have as a consumer, or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

4. Fees, Payment & Minimum Commitment

Online Running Coaching costs £79 per month and Complete Online Running Coaching costs £119 per month. Both options have an initial minimum commitment of three months.

The total amount payable during the initial minimum commitment is £237 for Online Running Coaching or £357 for Complete Online Running Coaching, paid as three monthly payments at the applicable coaching fee.

The coaching option and monthly fee that apply to you will be confirmed in writing before your coaching begins.

Payment is made monthly in advance by standing order. Run Fit Coach will provide you privately with the bank details required to set up your standing order.

Your first payment will be due on your agreed Coaching Start Date. Subsequent payments will be due monthly on the same calendar date at your agreed monthly coaching fee.

Where your bank processes a standing order later because the payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, this will not be treated as a late payment.

After the initial three-month commitment, coaching will continue on a monthly rolling basis at your applicable monthly coaching fee unless cancelled in accordance with the cancellation terms below.

Your standing order should remain in place while your coaching agreement continues.

Cancelling, changing or failing to make a standing order payment does not itself cancel your coaching agreement.

If a payment is missed, Run Fit Coach will contact you to arrange payment. Coaching may be paused while an overdue payment remains outstanding.

Changing Coaching Option

You may ask to move between Online Running Coaching and Complete Online Running Coaching. A change of coaching option will only take effect where both you and Run Fit Coach agree the change in writing.

The written confirmation will state the new coaching option, the new monthly fee and the date on which the change takes effect. Run Fit Coach will not change your coaching option or increase your fee without your agreement, except for a future price change made in accordance with the notice provisions below.

A change of coaching option does not automatically begin a new three-month minimum commitment. Any different minimum term would need to be expressly agreed with you in writing before the change takes effect. Availability of Complete Online Running Coaching may depend on coaching capacity.

Future Price Changes

Your agreed monthly coaching fee will not be increased during your initial three-month minimum commitment.

If the monthly fee for your coaching option changes after this period, Run Fit Coach will provide at least 30 days' notice before the new price takes effect.

If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel your coaching before the increase takes effect. Any applicable notice period will be charged at your existing price.

5. Contract Date & Coaching Start Date

Submitting an onboarding form does not by itself guarantee acceptance onto the coaching service.

Your coaching contract will be formed when Run Fit Coach confirms in writing that your coaching place has been accepted. This is your Contract Date.

Your Coaching Start Date will be agreed separately. This is the date from which your first monthly coaching period and first monthly coaching payment begins.

Your statutory 14-day cancellation period runs from the Contract Date, rather than the Coaching Start Date.

Before or when the contract is formed, you will be given confirmation of your selected coaching option, monthly fee, initial minimum commitment and the information needed to understand your cancellation rights. A copy or confirmation of these terms will be provided in a form that you can keep for your records, such as by email.

6. Cancellation & Notice After the Initial Commitment

After the initial three-month minimum commitment, you may end your coaching agreement by giving Run Fit Coach at least 30 days' written notice.

You may give that notice before the three-month minimum period has finished. You do not need to wait until the end of the minimum term before telling Run Fit Coach that you wish to leave.

How Your Cancellation Date Is Worked Out

Your coaching will end on the later of:

  • the end of your initial three-month minimum commitment; or
  • 30 days after Run Fit Coach receives your cancellation notice.

For example, if you give at least 30 days' notice before your minimum commitment ends, your coaching can finish at the end of that three-month period. If you give notice less than 30 days before the minimum period ends, coaching will continue only for the remainder of the 30-day notice period.

Final Payment

Coaching is normally paid monthly in advance. If your cancellation date falls part-way through a monthly coaching period, you will only be charged for coaching up to the agreed cancellation date. Where a full monthly payment has already been received for a period extending beyond that date, Run Fit Coach will refund the unused portion on a proportionate basis.

This does not reduce the amount payable for the initial three-month minimum commitment, except where your statutory rights apply or where Run Fit Coach agrees otherwise in writing.

How to Give Notice

Cancellation notice should be sent by email to enquiries@runfitcoach.co.uk or provided by another clear written communication. Run Fit Coach will confirm receipt and your agreed cancellation date in writing.

Cancelling your standing order with your bank does not by itself tell Run Fit Coach that you wish to cancel your coaching agreement. Please give written notice as described above.

Coaching will remain available until your cancellation date.

If injury, illness or a significant change in circumstances prevents you from continuing your training, please contact Run Fit Coach as soon as reasonably possible so that your circumstances can be discussed.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights, including the 14-day cancellation right described below or any rights you may have where services are not provided with reasonable care and skill.

7. Your 14-Day Statutory Cancellation Right

When this contract is entered into at a distance, including online, you normally have the right to cancel it within 14 days without giving a reason.

The cancellation period begins on the day after your Contract Date and expires 14 days later.

To exercise this right, you must clearly tell Run Fit Coach that you wish to cancel before the cancellation period expires. You may do this by email or another clear written statement.

You may also use the model cancellation form provided below, although you are not required to use that form.

Your three-month minimum commitment does not remove or override this statutory 14-day cancellation right.

Refunds Following Statutory Cancellation

Where a payment has already been made and you validly exercise your statutory cancellation right, any refund due will be made without undue delay and within the period required by law.

Where you have expressly asked Run Fit Coach to begin providing the service during the cancellation period, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services actually supplied before you cancelled, where permitted by law. Any such amount will be calculated by reference to the agreed contract price and the service actually provided up to the point at which you cancelled.

8. Starting Coaching Preparation Within 14 Days

Run Fit Coach will not begin substantive preparation or supply of your coaching service during your statutory cancellation period unless you expressly request this in writing or another durable form that can be kept for your records.

During onboarding you will be asked whether you would like Run Fit Coach to:

  • begin providing and preparing your coaching during the 14-day cancellation period; or
  • wait until the 14-day cancellation period has ended before beginning that work.

If you request that preparation begins during the cancellation period, work may include:

  • Your initial coaching consultation
  • Review of your onboarding information
  • Review of relevant training history and training data
  • TrainingPeaks setup
  • Planning and preparation of your personalised training programme

Requesting that work begins during the cancellation period does not mean that your completed training programme will be available immediately. Appropriate time may be required to review your information and prepare your programme.

If you ask Run Fit Coach to begin providing the service during the 14-day period and subsequently exercise your statutory right to cancel, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services actually provided up to the point of cancellation, where permitted by law. The amount will be based on the agreed price of your coaching option and the proportion of the service that has actually been supplied.

9. Model Cancellation Form

You may use the following wording if you wish to exercise your statutory right to cancel, although you do not have to use this form. Any clear statement that you wish to cancel is sufficient.

I give notice that I wish to cancel my contract for Run Fit Coach Online Running Coaching.

10. Personal Information & Training Data

Run Fit Coach will use the personal information and training data you provide for the purpose of providing and administering your coaching service.

This may include information provided through your onboarding form, TrainingPeaks, connected training devices, WhatsApp and other agreed communication with Run Fit Coach.

Information relating to your health or injuries will only be collected and used where relevant to the safe and appropriate provision of your coaching service.

Your information will be handled in accordance with the Run Fit Coach Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.

Where third-party services such as TrainingPeaks or WhatsApp are used, those services may also process your information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.

11. Standard of Service

Run Fit Coach will provide the coaching service with reasonable care and skill and will use the information reasonably available when planning and reviewing your training.

Coaching recommendations are based on the information you provide, your available training data and your ongoing feedback. It is therefore important that you keep Run Fit Coach informed of relevant changes to your health, training, availability or circumstances.

Training may occasionally need to be amended, delayed or reorganised because of illness, injury, recovery, competition schedules or other circumstances affecting you or the provision of the coaching service.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights in relation to services that are not provided with reasonable care and skill.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your coaching service, please contact Run Fit Coach as soon as reasonably possible so that the matter can be reviewed and an appropriate resolution sought.

Complaints can be made by email to enquiries@runfitcoach.co.uk.

Run Fit Coach will aim to respond to complaints promptly and deal with them fairly and reasonably.

13. Agreement

By agreeing to these terms and proceeding with Online Running Coaching, you confirm that you have read and understood this agreement and agree to the terms set out above.

You also confirm that the information you provide during onboarding and throughout the coaching relationship is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete.

These terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
