Endurance Coaching With Clinical Insight

I'm an England Athletics Endurance Running Coach and Clinical Sports Therapist, with more than 20 years' experience working in healthcare. This background allows me to bring together practical coaching, running biomechanics and clinical understanding.

I've been a runner for more than 12 years, so I understand that training has to work in the real world. Runners have different goals, different starting points and lives that don't always fit neatly around a training plan.

My approach is athlete centred and adaptable, with the aim of helping you train with greater purpose, understand your running and make progress that can be sustained over the long term.

More About Me

Athlete-Centred Approach to Coaching

Good coaching starts with the individual. Your training should reflect your goals, your current ability, how you're responding to training and the demands of life outside of running.

Individual Goals

Training shaped around what you want to achieve and where you are starting from.

Evidence Informed

Practical coaching decisions informed by current evidence and applied to you as an individual.

Ongoing Support

Regular reviews, feedback and adjustments help keep your training moving in the right direction.

Adaptable Training

Training can change as you progress, respond to sessions and manage the demands of everyday life.

More Than a Training Plan

Apps Can Plan Your Runs. They Can't Teach You How to Run

Training apps and smart watches can be excellent tools. They can track your running, analyse performance and help give structure to your training. But data only tells part of the story.

Coaching adds the human element. It means understanding how you're responding to training, recognising when something needs to change and making decisions around your progress, goals and circumstances.

Technology has an important place in modern coaching, but it works best when the numbers are interpreted and applied with purpose.

What Runners Say

Sometimes small changes can make a surprisingly big difference to how you understand your running.

I didn't realise how insightful it would be until I actually saw myself running slowed down. I could see exactly where the weakness was and how it could be contributing to my knee pain.
Pacing was always an issue for me. I'd normally go out too fast and struggle later on, but after working through some simple pacing strategies I feel much more in control of my runs.
I used to just run every session at roughly the same effort. Having some structure and understanding what each run is actually trying to achieve has completely changed the way I train.
